Salam Alaykoum,

I wake up very early this morning, in fact it i can’t sleep anymore since we have no news about Brother Mohammed who has left 10 days ago for Egypt.

Mohammed Hawas is running for president in Egypt and he is the best leader to save egypt and arab nation from the lost Inchallah that is why he may not please the actual gov.

I can’t stop making duas for him, May Allah swt protect him anywhere he is, and may help him to achieve his aim for the Ummah.

It is no more possible to sleep when i feel that a brother or a sister is in danger, or may have problems, so please join my duas to help Mohammed, in the name of Allah swt we will help a very good person who is doing so much for his community.

May Allah Help me to give the message to everyone of you. And help us to find the best way for Ummah.

Jazakallaho khairan.

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Oh Allah, I thank You for this day. I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I’m blessed because You are forgiving and understanding, Allah. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you..

I ask now for Your forgiveness. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. And It’s the best response when I’m pushed beyond my limits. Continue to use me to do what You will, Oh Allah

Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak… Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I make duah for those that are lost and can’t find their way. I make duah for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I make duah for those who don’t know You . I make duah for those that will delete this without sharing it with others. I make duah for those that don’t believe.

But I thank You that I believe. I believe that Allah (Swt) changes people and Allah (Swt) changes things. I make duah for all my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in their households. I make duah for peace, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met. I make duah that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than our Rabb. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.
I make duah that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees it, Inshallah (Ameen)

Salam alaikum wa rahmatullah,

I contracted a huge student debt while I was non-muslim. Al-hamdolillah my father accepted to pay it to the bank so I can pay him instead, with better conditions of payment.

Now I’m working part-time, from home, to take care of my young children. Most of the money I make goes to kids clothing, gas for the car, kids activities… I still cannot give a lot to my father and I’m so afraid to die without having it paid. So incha’Allah if some of you could pray for me, so I can find, incha’Allah wa taala, a way to clear this debt as soon as possible - at least before I die.

The 3 Dua’s.

Allah says in His Book, “”And your Lord says: Call on me; I will answer (your prayer). But those who are too arrogant to serve Me will surely find themselves in Hell in humiliation.”

Making dua’ is a beautiful thing. You already know that. You get rewarded because it’s an act of worship. It raises your eman because you’re drawing nearer to your Lord. It’s a win-win situation, because either you’ll get what you asked for, and if it isn’t good for you, you’ll get compensated in the Hereafter.

I wanted to share with a small reflection of mine on 3 dua’s, 2 of which were already answered and 1 that, insha’Allah, is in the process of being answered. I hope insha’Allah hearing about these dua’s will uplift your heart as much as it uplifts mine every time I remember it.

In the course of the past 2 years I have made, what I thought, were 3 far-fetched dua’s. What I mean when I say far-fetched is that, to me, they seemed impossible. Many times when something seems impossible we don’t even ask. Perhaps we’re afraid that if we ask and it doesn’t happen, will be overly-disappointed or depressed. But that sort of thinking is from Shaytaan. Allah can do anything, and if you’re sincere and you believe and remember that He has all the power, perhaps He’ll show it to you in your case.

Dua’ Number 1

The first dua’ I made many years after an incident. The incident itself occurred a couple of years before I made the dua’. At the time of making the dua’ everyone who was involved in the incident had gone their separate paths. The incident involved a number of people being very hurt by me for a decision that I took, but I know to this day that that decision was right because it was the result of my istikhaara.

The people in the incident were people I loved so much and I always will. I have a love for them that I’ll never have for anyone else, because they guided me to Islam, by Allah’s will, and continued to support me while I treaded the rough waters of being a new Muslim at the age of 16.

The incident resulted in the complete destruction of any relationship I had with these people I loved so much. I felt alone in the world and I never heard from them again. I got married and started a new life, but I knew through the grapevine that they still harbored feelings of anger, hurt, and resentment toward me because of what I did.

A few years after the incident I started making dua’ for them. Not just for their happiness, or for the removal of any negative feelings, but I started making dua’ that Allah would unite our hearts again and re-establish the bonds of love and friendship that had been severed. I continued making this dua’, remembering that Allah is ar-Rahman and He holds the hearts between His fingers and turns them as He pleases. It didn’t matter how impossible or out of reach it seemed to me, He could do it.

And He did. Within a couple months I received a completely random an email in my inbox from one of those very people. “Somehow,” she says, “Lately you’ve just been on my mind. I really miss you.” Our correspondence resulted in my reconnection with not only her but the other people around her who I always wanted to reconnect with. A couple months after that we met in person. Now, not only are we all friends again, and Allah willed that the two of them that I’ve talked with the most are now moving here.

Dua’ Number 2

Siraaj and I used to live at an apartment complex that was literally right down the street from the masjid. We have one car and Siraaj takes it to work during the day, so I loved it that I could walk to the masjid for juma’.

Every friday, accept for the case of extremely incumbent weather, I would put my daugther in the stroller and make the uphill trek to the masjid. I loved walking there and back, as I’m an outdoors-type person anyways. I also always loved thinking about the reward I was getting, insha’Allah, especially when I in the last trimester of my pregnancy! =)

However, we started having other problems living at this particular complex, and it was for the sake of Allah that we decided to move. The masjid was the one thing that made me hesitate. I worried that by moving away from it, perhaps we would be losing some immense blessing. I also knew that it would be the end of my juma’-attending days.

Yet, there was dua’! I started making dua’ to Allah to make a way for me to go to juma’. I knew that getting a second car was not in the cards for us, and Siraaj’s commute to work was an hour long which made it impossible for him to pick me up.

So before we even moved I started making dua’. Allah knew how much I loved to go. So we moved to the new place and at that time it was the winter holidays so Siraaj’s boss took a huge vacation, which allowed him the opportunity to work from home. It was amazing! Here I was at our new place and our whole family was going to juma’ together! But just wait, it gets even better…

Siraaj, who works 9-5 as a software engineer, got an offer from another team. He was keen to change teams so he went for it. His current boss is in California, and his team is a small group here in Illinois as most of his co-workers live in Cali. Because of the nature of his work and team, he’s is now able to work from home multiple times a week, which means that every friday he gets to stay home from work and we all get to go to juma’!

Dua’ Number 3

Between Siraaj and myself we have a lot of debt. And I mean, a LOT. It’s all from college and were from loans before we new that riba was haraam. Siraaj was already done with school when we got married and when I found out I dropped out of school. So here we were, myself a stay-at-home mother and Siraaj the sole berad-winner, a typical middle-class family. All this debt has been looming over our heads, without the presentation of any possible avenue to relieve ourselves of it. When we calculate the small payments we are able to make versus the enormous amount of debt, the situation looks extremely bleak. Then there’s the possibility of us paying riba for the rest of our lives, which is enough to make your stomach turn.

So just about a month ago I started making dua’, not only for us to get out of our debts, but to get out of it within a year. Now guys if you knew the amount I’m talking about you’d really appreciate the Almighty Power of Allah even more when I tell you this.

Within this month this whole idea of homeschooling other children came to me. Not only is it something I’m passionate about, but it would a much-needed source of income. But now the dream has moved beyond that. Insha’Allah by this coming fall I will be opening registration to a first-of-its-kind, high-quality online (or distance education, if you will) school for Muslims grades 6-12. After much thoughtful consideration and istikhaara, I’ve decided to cater to this age group, and in this fashion, because this is the age at which most parents feel like homeschooling becomes too difficult, or parents who already have their kids in a traditional school-setting feel like the fitna is too poisonous.

Ever since I started this project alhamdulillah things have been so well and smoothly. And then when I think about the numbers, insha’Allah, and the money resulting–insha’Allah we’ll be debt-free within a year.

The long and short of it, nothing is too good to be true with Allah as our Lord.

June 18th, 2008 @1:20 am

There is one brother our family knew years ago whose faith in Allah SWT was so personified. May Allah bless him wherever he may be now. Lots of the power of dua stories I know are through him.

He narrated this true story:
He’d been working for the sake of Allah SWT, and for whatever reason, had nothing left at the end of the month to pay for the following month’s rent. His new wife (ask me another time about the power of dua that won him her hand) had left everything she’d ever known, including her country to follow him to the ends of the earth. He didn’t want to put her through the anguish of homelessness. So where did he turn? He made a sincere dua to Allah SWT.
And literally, the following morning, he was called up by a dear friend of his whom he hadn’t spoken to for ages. The conversation went something like this:

“Assalam Alaykum Abdul _________(the nameless hero of our story). I know we haven’t spoken in a long time and I really wanted to call you. You were in my dream last night. In it, I gave you $735.00. Tell me, brother, are you in need of that amount of money? I’m ready to send it to you.”

The brother started crying. It was the exact amount of his rent, subhan Allah.

Masha’Allah, this is a true EmanRush thread…

This story reminds me of similar personal story. This was long ago when I used to be a broke student. I LOVE to eat lot of watermelon..

One day I had this strong craving for one and looked through all the change I had in a mug, after counting all the quarters and dime…it came to $3.75. Disheartened, I knew it will be more than 5 bucks, since I saw that price tag 3 days ago.
I still thought I’d give it a try and might be able to buy a slice at least.

I walked towards the grocery store and started repeating the dua that:” Oh Allah! Make the cost of watermelon under my budget.”

Lo! And Behold, I felt weak in my knees when I saw the price tag…with tax it turned out to be exactly $3.75=)

I went home and felt a huge EmanRush while eating it…like I felt proud that Allah subhanahu wa tala fed me.

Short & Simple Dua’a Story:

I wanted to have a baby and made general dua’a for one. After seven months or so of trying, I got pregnant and the pregnancy held. I ended up enduring only THREE hours of labor despite being a first time mother (I’m sure I was making dua’a for the pain to go away as my epidural did not work), and gave birth to a son on a Friday. Subhana’Allah I could not have imagined a better child for me even though other factors in my life went sour making things a little difficult. Not only is he precious, handsome, intelligent, sensitive and bright to me, but he seems to touch complete strangers in ways I’ve never seen or heard of before. So many people make comments about him, or tell me that they are drawn to him or just make the remark that he could be a model. My time with him is so special that even when I am given my (sometimes much needed) breaks from full-time motherhood, I end up missing him a lot and wishing he were there with me. Even though he has his moments like every other child, he really brightens any given experience I have, something much needed in my life. I think Allah (swt) answered my dua’a and then some (even as he is bopping me with his toys as I type ;-) ).

Some Dua’as:

May Allah grant relief to the oppressed all over the globe, but in Darfur, Palestine, Iraq and those in the hands of torturers and abusers in particular.

May Allah ease the hearts of the children who are suffering and keep them among the patient, particularly of the Afghan boy I read about the other day (if he is still alive). May Allah heal his wounds and bless him with righteousness.

May Allah bless sister Nimao and her future husband in their soon-to-be marriage with prosperity and children.

May Allah bring xxxx to Islam.

May Allah make me one of the content, patient and righteous. May Allah soften my heart and purify it of its diseases. May Allah grant me a husband to ease my loneliness, provide a role-model and male companion for my son and to give me more children.

May Allah bless my son with righteous and make him one of the dwellers of Paradise.

The doctors have given up all hope but then I have trust in ALLAH and in the power of dua. Therefore as a helpless mother of a dying child I beg all of you to pray for my daughter, please
include her as a part of each and every dua of yours. Please pray to ALLAH that He should give her body the strength to respond to the medication, that He should somehow miraculously heal her of this disease and Inshallah grant her a healthy and long life (AMEEN)

Please, please pass this message on to as many brothers and Sisters as you can. If even ten percent of you would remember to pray for my daughter then it would mean a lot for us. Your duas and Allah’s mercy is our ONLY hope.

Please pray for Nathalie Morin. She’s a young Canadian woman who is retained against her will with her two children in Saudi Arabia. Her husband is forbidding her to come back to Canada and she’s stuck there. On top of that, he’s being abusive and violent with her and the children (2 and 6). Her mother is desperately trying to do something but as you know, Saudi’s laws are very strict in these situations. She alerted the government and Amnesty International (who actually condemned the case) but nothing’s being done. They tried to send a lawyer there but they don’t want to give him a visa.

I personally know her, she’s a convert to islam (she took her shahada with me in 2002) and I’m really getting worried. I talked to her 2 days ago and she said the situation was very bad. Her husband is not feeding them enough, he’s locking them in the house, etc. Her mother told me today that the guy doesn’t allow Nathalie to talk to her anymore.

Make plenty of dua, for anly Allah subhana wa taala can bring her back safe.

Shortly after I converted I was trying to get married, and for whatever reason this sister (or maybe her family) put the criterion on me that I have a car. At the time I was fresh out of college and broke, just starting to look for work. I was really more concerned with paying off any interest bearing debts I had from before Islam. I made dua that Allah provide me with a car within my means and while leaving the Masjid that day an Indian brother approached me and said he was moving to Canada to get married and gave me his car.

It didn’t work out with that sister, but I practically lived in that car for 6 months… drove it for almost exactly a year when the engine caught on fire. It still ran, but wasn’t worth the repairs, so I donated it to the Cancer Fund.

Assalaamu alaikum,

I learned about this Dua drive and was skeptical at joining, especially because I was uncertain what the donation would be used for. Instead of joining for the mere contribution of $3, I decided to post a dua instead.

This past week I have been stressing over my research paper, spending my nights studying and researching. Still I was unable to make progress. After I posted the dua on this site, the next day I finished my entire project with no stress whatsoever. It was strange that I didn’t freak out. After I clicked on the print button, the first thought that came to my mind was “Alhamdulillah!” Then I remembered the Dua drive.

JazakAllahu Khairun to all who remembered me in their prayers and to Half Date for making this Dua Drive possible. May Allah bless all of you with the best of imaan. Ameen.

Today, I decided to join the dua team =) I suggest to those who are pondering whether or not to join, to take that step and join for making dua is very powerful especially for others. We should remember the Hadith: “Nothing is more honourable to Allah the Most High than du`a.” [Sahih al-Jami` no.5268].

The Prophet said: “The dua of a Muslim for his brother (in Islam) in his absence is readily accepted. An angel is appointed to his side. Whenever he makes a beneficial dua for his brother the appointed angel says, ‘Aameen. And may you also be blessed with the same.’” [Sahih Muslim]

Of course you can still make dua without joining but by being a part of the Dua team, you are making a commitment. By the way, all proceeds go to the the China Earthquake disaster.

June 22nd, 2008 @3:09 pm

Oh Allaah, You are the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. Nothing surpasses Your Knowledge, and it is You Who reigns over your creation and there is none comparable, equal or greater than You. Oh Allaah, the King of Kings, the Owner of the Universe, the One who is able to do all things.

I ask You by Your Mercy and Your Grace that You open the hearts of the Muslims to the issues that are facing the youth of today; that You allow them to see the great need for novels and other such books that our youth can relate to, and that You equip every writer with a mightier sword than a sword itself - make their pens flow to inspire and capture the hearts of the all those who come across their work, who will then aspire to become closer to You and the deen you have ordained for us.

Oh Allaah, You are the One who Hears supplications, and it is upon You we call.

Peace and blessings be upon your beloved Prophet Muhammad, his family and all those who follow him until the last day.

Aaameen.

I retreat to my Lord
I ask for Our Ummah
For relief and for peace

I feel it is my Creator Who creates this feeling within me
So that I see and moreso, seek.
I retreat to Him and no longer am I alone
Loneliness retreats because I see Islam

I pray for the enemy it’s rightful defeat
I feel you overcome and weak

Masha’Allah i’m totally impressed with your dua drive! Its’s awesome!!!

Yes, on an individual basis we all make all dua whether its for ourselves or others, but it’s not often that Muslims will come together and make dua for each other. Not for me anyway! It’s so simple yet we take it for granted, we have such busy lives that we at times forget to give time to others.

It’s a reminder that we need to think about others, and not only think about them, but make dua for them.

I’m even feeling the dua here in the UK! Alhamdulillah

Once again brilliant drive! Masha’Allah.

Because many times we are told an action point that we can implement in a certain situation, when i get home, when i see my mum etc. With this dua drive you make dua now, you get the personal satisfaction now. You don’t have to wait, rewards are at your door step so why shall we not respond.

Alhamdulillah, we’ve got lots of positive feedback. One sister said, “This is the best drive ever.”

We also, received some concerns, may Allah reward those concerned Muslims. The top 3 concerns are:

Concern 1: It sounds like back home style, where you hire an imam to do the worship for you.

Answer 1 from Br. Dawud:
I think the person didn’t fully understand it. How it’s done back home isn’t how we want to do it–we are trying to “correct it”, if anything. With this project we have the additional advantage of showing how it can be done the RIGHT WAY and tackle the “business” method at the same time–we can do that with the internet once word gets around insha Allah. If we were to just leave it be–we would be allowing that confusion (as Ali pointed out happens in Iran) to live on–but this way we can at least do it in a more halaal fashion.

Concern 2: It comes across is that you cannot make dua if you don’t pay the $3.

Answer 2:
$3 commitment is to filter out non-committed volunteers. We’ve set the bar so low that you can give it to any cause locally, i.e. no credit card needed.
Actually, what came across this concerned sister’s mind is a good point. Because one benefit of anything with a price tag is to make you aware of all the free things that we’ve been taking for granted in our lives. For example, if a masjid charges for Quran classes, suddenly people start to appreciate those free resources, so it’s a win-win, those who want to pay to get a dedicated Quran class get what they want, and those who want to learn from free resources will appreciate those free resources more.

Concern 3: Dua should be direct from the person to Allah

Answer 3: Good point. Currently, some Muslims still pass slips of paper after Jumaa asking the imam for duas, so should you ban that too?  We have to realize why people ask others to pray for them (some reasons listed below).
We all know that you should make dua yourself, and usually other people really don’t care or don’t know how severe your problem is.

However, we may still turn to others for dua, because of any of the following combinations:
1- We have this myth that we need the imam to pray for us (this is what this project tries to correct)
2- We feel helpless, so we ask anyone and everyone
3- We ask loved ones, because we know they care
4- We want to unload a burden, that’s why this service can be looked at as a support group
5- Sometimes we don’t want to share our issues with people we know, for whatever reasons, privacy or don’t want to make them worry, so that is where this service comes handy.

—-

As for the process, here is a draft idea:
1- Dua submission is done anonymously via a Web form; the public won’t see these personal requests
2- The submitted dua is sent to an admin, who forward as appropriate to the volunteers mailing list
3- Any volunteer after making the dua, post a comment on the site, stating the name of the person who submitted the dua, where and when the volunteer made the dua, e.g. I prayed for you while fasting or in Hajj.
4- All volunteers have to sign up, pay a donation, and attend some training (about dua and privacy etiquettes)

Of course, the best thing for you is to turn to Allah directly and to him alone, but in most cases, most of us still need some support. So, this service is that support. So you realize at time of difficulties that Allah is giving you brothers and sisters who care about you, and who are making dua for you around the clock and across different time zones.

And Allah knows best.

Post your comments

Ya Allah, forgive me, the Ummah and all the people who though we try, fail to do as you ask, give us the ability to shine with your light so, that your power, your truth, your wisdom and mercy can be seen in all that we do.
Give us the strength to accept with grace and dignity all the tests you lay before us, ease our suffering Allah, your Ummah is breaking, please oh merciful One give your ummah fewer burdens in this world, so that we can focus more on the Unity of the Ummah and spreading the beauty of Islam, so that by your Mercy we can All be amongst the dwellers of your Gardens of Paradise.
Oh Allah Please, grant us the ability to grow closer and stronger in love and respect for each other for the sake of the Ummah, help is to accept our brethren for what they all are, grant us the wisdom to realise our differences which you made between us should be embraced rather than used to widen the already expanding gulf between the ’sects’ of Muslims. You alone are our judge Guide us all, Allah so that those who havent seen the beauty of your message embrace your way before the end of times
Help us Allah without you we are nothing
Oh Allah, I beg you please, forgive us and place your Mercy in our hearts so we might share this Blessing with those whom are in greater need.
We Ask for ourselves, when there are so many of our brothers and sisters suffering in ways we could never dream of, please Allah ease their suffering, loss, hardships and show us how best to help those facing greater trials then our own.
Our Ummah is bleeding, please rise out of our people a band of brothers and sisters who can shower your nour on the Ummah to heal it in your Name and by your Mercy and Might.

Ya Allah
Forgive us when we forget to give you thanks for All the wonderful blessings you send upon us,
Forgive us when we do not recognise you have answered us,
Forgive us when we get pulled by the Dunya,
Forgive us when we aren’t content with the blessings you have sent us,
Forgive us when we moan because of your trails and illnesses you send us to help cleanse our sins and to enable us to grow.
Forgive us when we Shun our brothers and sisters
Forgive us if we are amongst those who haven’t learnt how to forgive,
Forgives us all our wrongdoings Allah ta aala, grant us many good deeds so that they on the the day of judgement they far out weight our bad deeds.
Forgive us Allah ta aala so that we are all blessed enough to be amongst the Prophets (sas) in Jennah el Fidrous.
